These include a multifunctional tool covering weather data, meteorological instruments, yachting, and AI technologies. A key challenge is managing the design process, which involves visual refinement and developing a cohesive design system.
Windy.app is looking for a Design Partner (Lead Product Designer / Principal / Head of Design) ****— a strategic thinker who can simplify complex problems and create an engaging user experience. This key role will work directly with the CPO and co-founder, shaping the product’s visual and user experience direction to drive success.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead visual design initiatives and develop a scalable design system to improve product efficiency.
- Restore consistency in design while gradually modernizing its aesthetics.
- Develop conceptual solutions for complex datasets, including weather maps, time-based indicators, and elevation parameters.
- Collaborate with creative and technical teams to align visuals with product development.
- Coordinate work with creative and technical teams to synchronize visuals and development.
- Analyze current design solutions and identify areas for improvement, balancing advanced functionality with intuitive interfaces.
- Enhance user experience by leveraging user data and conducting research.
- Drive the creative vision of the product, balancing innovation with practicality.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Extensive experience working with complex, multi-functional products or services, with a proven ability to manage design processes.
- Advanced UI/UX expertise, with proven experience in creating and managing design systems.
